Learner Centred Teaching Techniques and Students’ Engagement in English Subject in Public Secondary Schools in Musha Sector, Rwamagana District, Rwanda

Pioneers of learner centred pedagogy believe that teaching techniques play a significant role in students’ engagement. In countries, where English is taught as second language, this paramount to making language classes engaging and impactful. The purpose study was evaluate the influence learner-centred has on classroom engagement subject Rwamagana district, Rwanda. used both descriptive correlational research design. For data collection, questionnaires, focus group discussion interview guide were used. addition simple random sampling, stratified sampling techniques. target population 318 people corresponding sample size 187 respondents by using Yamane formula. To analyze quantitative data, IBM SPSS software version 26 thematic analysis qualitative data. findings revealed are able at level 77.6% remaining 22.4% can be attributed other variables indicated R square 0.776. Additionally, there statistically significance high degree positive relationship between with P-value = .000 which less than .01 Pearson coefficient correlation r=.861. concludes effective implementation learners centered influences subject. recommends school head teachers make regular supervision about activities enhance promoting use technique. suggests further establish academic performance Keywords: Learner techinques, approach,
